New look 6776. Tissu/Fabric : La Maison des tissus.
Je joue avec la balance des blancs de Gimp, je force sur la luminosité. J’ajoute un peu de rose poudré, histoire de faire semblant. Mais ce que j’aimerais vraiment ce serait de la lumière, le petit rayon de soleil orangé quand on sort du bureau, l’odeur de l’herbe au petit matin. Le printemps… En attendant, je me suis cousue une robe et j’écoute de la musique de fille. Le patron, New Look 6776, n’avait vraiment rien pour lui: ça fleure bon les années 80 et les bals de fin d’année américains. Mais qu’est ce qui m’est passé par la tête quand j’ai acheté ce patron? La coupe simple a du me sembler prometteuse. Et effectivement, en faisant abstraction du noeud-noeud et en choisissant bien mon tissu, je crois que je ne m’en sors pas si mal.
Et vous, arrivez-vous à faire abstraction des hooooorrrribles modèles présentés sur les pochettes de certaines grandes marques de patrons? Allez, je retourne mettre un pull.

I’m playing around with Gimp, white-balancing like mad, adding light and contrast here and there. A little bit of pink maybe? But honestly, now, i’d rather have spring make its full and bold appearance : the smell of grass in the morning, orange rays of light in the evening. Spring, you know, i can’t wait! Please, come now! Well, in the wait, i’m listening to girly music and i’ve made a cute summer dress. i have to admit pattern New Look 6776 isn’t very attracting : at first, it actually reminded me of prom nights in the 1980′s. But overlooking the ugly bow and terrible choice of purple fabric on the pattern enveloppe i was eventually able to spot the potential. But let’s be honest, i think it took some courage to buy this pattern…
How about you? Are you able to overcome disgust when looking at the patterns enveloppe featuring aweful models? The fit and overall shape is what matters, of course, but sometimes, isn’t it difficult to “imagine” what you could make of such patterns…?
